Living & Working in WindsorSpending a weekend in Windsor often leads visitors to contemplate a life here, escaping the crush of people, cars and towering buildings of nearby Sydney. What would life be like? Could I start my own business? Often, building or buying a business is a complex effort – comprehending government policies and ordinances and working through the maze of necessary paperwork. Consequently, businesses have sprung up in Windsor to reduce the confusion and assist in negotiating that effort. Several of the business owners on George Street have abandoned the corporate world. New businesses continue to open throughout Windsor and the Hawkesbury, and locals know why you would move here – for lifestyle, rural landscapes and, of course, the river.
Newly formed groups of business owners and land owners have a genuine interest in the Hawkesbury, its economy and the sustainability of its natural assets. Others with a love for the heritage work to promote and maintain the traditional values of Windsor and other Macquarie towns in the Hawkesbury. There are many schools, both public and private, for your children. Nearby in Richmond, the University of Western Sydney and a large TAFE campus offer tertiary education in the Hawkesbury. Availability of land in the Hawkesbury has slowed growth, but that’s not a bad thing if you take a look at many Sydney suburbs today. Here, there is a connection to our history the land, and a slower country pace. The rural atmosphere of the Hawkesbury and access to the Hawkesbury River is a big draw and, as you are visiting, you may be thinking along these very lines. Pinnacle Taxation Services
For those of us who own and drive small businesses, Pinnacle Services are the specialists who build solid developmental plans and help us manage to that plan. Often in the rush of everyday business, strategic development sits on the shelf – it’s a “nice to have”. We all need that little push to follow through and Pinnacle staff will do that. Historically, the clients of Pinnacle have entered the door for individual taxation issues but with Pinnacle’s help the business has changed, evolved to the broader picture of strategic issues and managing the day-to-day. Windsor Business Group
Easter weekend found the members hiding “chocolate eggs” for the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Thompson Square. And in May, the WBG is excited to sponsor a “Power Boat Show” on the Saturday before the big race on Sunday. Ulysses Club members (bikers over 40 and needing reading glasses) will be welcomed with several day and night events during the week of their AGM which will be held in Penrith. But, it is the hills, backroads and glorious scenery of the Hawkesbury which these motorcyclists will seek out, and the WBG intends to put on their Harley boots and roll out the red carpet in March 2009. Windsor Function Centre
The Function Centre can accommodate 50 to 400, perfect for parties and corporate conferences. You won’t have to worry about the details – the Function Centre management can provide tasteful decor, full-service catering and excellent customer service. You have a choice of rooms for your event, depending upon the numbers of guests and your specific needs. No event is too large, or too difficult. Even parking space is substantial.
